I started IfWeRanTheWorld as a quick, simple and easy way for people and businesses to turn good intentions into action. This is a total experiment and very much a work in progress, so we are very grateful for all help and feedback. If you'd like to know more about me, check out cindygallop.com.
I'm a self-made manager who has been working in tech management for over ten years and tech in general for nearly 20. Since leaving military intelligence, I have successfully combined my love of puzzles and computers with my personable leadership style to excel in the field. Over the years I've been a jack of all trades dabbling in a variety of areas.
When I'm not shuffling people around to meet the needs of successfully “running the World,” I'm an avid mountain biker, motorcyclist, gamer, paintballer; and Action Adventure Geek. To find out a bit more about me and my adventures, checkout m0to.com.
Oonie would very much like to be able to fly and to shoot lasers out of her eyes and look good in those leave-nothing-to-the-imagination costumes but, alas, she cannot do any of those things. But she is one of those people who is entirely certain that some day she will, indeed, be able to do such things and is wholly optimistic that she will achieve such levels of AWESOME shoulder-to-shoulder with her IWRTW superfriends. In the meantime she will toil in her happy lab, concocting digital experiences ranging from the tragically dull to the epically obscene and everything in between, some of which have won awards, required patents and/or changed the world (more at ooniechase.wordpress.com). You will know her by her shoes and her accompanying delusion that she is, in fact, 6'4''.
I'm a Brooklyn-based designer and illustrator, currently living in Stockholm, Sweden. I thrive on working with inspiring people and projects in uncharted spaces. If you'd like to know more about me, check out sougwen.com, or follow @sougwen on twitter.
I believe that all living beings are connected to each other, but the minute details of our daily lives cloud our hearts and isolate us. I would love to live in a society in which helping another is the same as helping yourself. You can learn all about me at juliawe.st.
As a rogue scientist and arch enemy of all flying, laser-eyed superheroes, Corey has amassed a substantial arsenal of boring burlap which he plans to use to enshroud any caped and airborne member of the superfriend league, just a soon as any of them actually learn how to fly. In the meanwhile, he spends his time tinkering on software and such.
Rachel is a software developer living and working in New York City. She loves working with smart, creative people like everyone on the IWRTW team and her colleagues at Pivotal Labs. She obviously enjoys long walks on the beach, candlelit dinners, and watching the sunset...
I'm a recent graduate of the University of San Diego with a major in Communications. Helping others is important to me, which makes me very excited to be a part of the IfWeRanTheWorld team. When I'm not assisting with technical difficulties on the website and responding to user feedback, I'm either brewing delicious coffee at It's A Grind coffee house, or playing sports and exercising. I currently live in San Diego.
Chief Strategy Officer, R/GA and pro-bono advisor to IWRTW team. We imagined what could be and then worked backwards to create it. This was a journey that took us through complexity and out the other side to brutal simplicity. This is a journey that has only just started because there is so much more to learn and improve. It can only get better from here.
A human dynamo with a world class gift of the gab I am the boots on the ground for IfWeRanTheWorld in Ireland. I have worked in the communications industry for 19 years and also teach Social , Not For Profit and Cause Related marketing to young people with a vested interest in changing the world. Throughout our history the Irish have demonstrated an altruistic outlook and empathy for the underdog. Making IfWeRanTheWorld the new playing field for us to make the changes we want for our society is my mission. I look forward to seeing all 70 million of you Irish living both home and abroad acting and being the change you want to see on IfWeranTheWorld platforms.
It's all in the title for me. IfWeRanTheWorld. A truth about collectively, collaboratively, working together. Because that's the best way to solve problems and achieve great things. Your idea is only ever as strong as the people you share it with. As the late, great Joe Strummer put it, people can change anything they want to. And that means everything in the world. Without people, you're nothing. And this is true from New York to New Zealand. I want to use IWRTW to facilitate connections between people, break down walls and combine the skills and abilities of different worlds by creating action platforms that inspire and motivate all sides to take action.
Imagine what might happen if we could tap into the single largest untapped natural resource in the world:
the pool of good intentions that never translate into action.
Human good intentions - and business good intentions.
Welcome to an experiment doing just that.
We'd love for you to join the 1796 adventurers, dreamers, superheros and unruly nerds who are helping to make it happen.
To get started, answer the question: if you ran the world, what would you do?
