Incredible things are happening in Finland, that could mean something to people outside the country too. Worlds first green head of state, Pekka Haavisto, could be elected, who is also openly gay, in a multicultural relationship with an Ecuadorian man; not to mention his capacity to truly be present to the pains and joys of all kinds of people in the world, and act as a problem solver and bridge builder.
Now we need all support we can find to make this step towards future, towards hope, so that we can win the election against the conservative Sauli Niinistö. We made it to the run off with a crowdfunded budget of only 250 000 €, againts that of 1 035 216 € of the conservatives. In Finland, artists and ordinary people are donating and working as much as they can, but still it is hard to compete with the corporate backed conservatives, who are, for example, against same sex marriages and green politics.
So I'm hoping that there exist hopeful, forward thinking people out there all over the world, who care about the green issues, as well as rights of the minorities, and are moved to support us. Thank you!
