I'm an Iranian immigrant in US. I haven't seen my family for the past 2 years, because if I leave I might not be able to come back, even though I'm legally living here. It's frustrating to have a wedding without your family. It's heart wrenching to here news about war threats to your country from various other countries. It's heart breaking to hear your father has had a stroke and not be able to be there for him. And I blame all this to borders. Borders make us greedy to make wars. Borders separate us put us in buckets while we are human beings. Borders make some superior and some simply less important. And finally they make us care about some issues and not the others.
